My parents raised me from birth as a strong Republican. I have since made it my goal to promote the Republican ideals they instilled in me. I fondly recall feeding envelopes into a printer and going door to door for my Dad’s early campaigns. I have worked on campaigns around Oregon both as a volunteer and as a coordinator; fundraising, managing volunteers, social media, and leading get out the vote efforts. To compliment my campaign work, I have also worked in the Oregon Senate where I learned how to write, shape, and pass good public policy. These experiences taught the importance of grassroots activism among Republicans. It’s necessary to counter the disaster that is full Democrat control of our state.
I believe national and state Democrats will be targeting Deschutes County in the future as our population grows. My goal is to stop this epidemic from spreading into our community by keeping our Republican voice relevant in our state legislature. We can’t wait for national and state Republicans to deliver a victory. It’s time for us to build it ourselves. It’s a grassroots effort. It always has been and it always will be. Democrats are the party of the machine. We are the party of the grassroots. We can learn from what happened in 2014. In order to win a campaign you have to start by building a winning campaign. In 2016, we will have to work hard to not only keep Deschutes County from falling into Democrat control, but also to be an example to other counties on how to stand strong for what we believe in.
My goals for the Deschutes County Republican Party are to register and turn out more Republicans to vote. I want to activate the strong grassroots I know exists in our community. I want to build on what the party is doing and focus on creating an effective plan to activate Republican voters, furthering our party ideals. I want Deschutes County Republicans to be competitive and relevant in our community and state. I want voters to trust those we help elect to office to defend our personal freedoms, and make decisions about education, and the economy.
I ask for your support
Too often I have heard that my generation is lazy and does not want to take responsibility for furthering American ideals such as the principles of our Constitution. I want to change that. I want to reclaim those ideals and strive for a more politically active generation. For these reasons, I humbly ask for your support in allowing me to stand strong on the Republican platform as your chair of the Deschutes County Republican Party.
